Article by Nick DeMent/Owl Staff

These past few months I have had the privilege of returning as the Editor in Chief of the recently rebranded Owl Media, and the opportunity has allowed me to work with a great group of both new and returning staff members.
It has also been quite the learning experience; transitioning from a print medium to a digital one has come with its challenges. When I signed on in the summer before the fall semester started, there were only a handful of us working on the project, and many of us had to learn new things quickly, as working with a website was not something we had much experience with in the past.
In the end though, thanks to the efforts of everyone on staff who devoted their time to the development of this new avenue in our publication’s history, the vision has become reality, and Owl Media is ready to unfurl its wings once again.
I want to thank everyone who helped me through all of the questions and concerns I had, and also to all the staff who helped bring this to fruition.
I wish the best of luck to whichever student takes up the mantle of Editor in Chief, and for them to know they are more than welcome to reach out to me if they have any questions or would like any advice.
Working on the Owl Media staff has been a formative and transformative experience for myself, and I am proud of everything we all have accomplished together.
The Owl Media family is always looking to add new students to its members, and I can vouch for the quality of education this kind of experience can offer. Any students who are reading this and have any interest in videography, photography, reporting, writing, be sure to reach out and become a part of something great.
Thank you all and best of luck to everyone.
